Who She Is

Bio and Background

I am Angie Weatherford Van Norman, and Kinder isn't just where I live — it's home. My husband Derek and I have raised 3 children here, and today we're blessed with 6 grandchildren. I've built my business, Van Norman's Jewelry and Gifts, here, and I've spent more than 30 years serving the people of my community in that business.

I've also had the privilege of serving the town of Kinder on the town council, representing District 4, for 22 years, and I've served as Mayor Pro Tem for 16 years.

Kinder has given my family so much, and I've always believed in giving back to the community that has given so much to us.

Where She'll Take Us

Goals and Vision

We have a lot going for us in Kinder, but we cannot be satisfied with simply maintaining what we have. The biggest challenge isn't a lack of potential — it's making sure we have the vision, planning, and determination to turn that potential into action.

Grants & Outside Funding

We will pursue more grants and outside funding so we can make improvements without putting the entire burden on our taxpayers.

Downtown & Business Growth

We will invest in downtown beautification and create reasons for people to visit and spend time in Kinder — while attracting new businesses and supporting the ones we already have.

Community & Infrastructure

We will create quarterly community events that bring people together — and make maintaining our streets and infrastructure a priority.
